Legio II Augusta
Legio II Augusta was one of Rome's most storied legions, playing a key role in the Claudian conquest of Britain in 43 AD under the future emperor Vespasian. Stationed in Britain for much of the Imperial period, the legion fought against the Caledonian tribes, suppressed Boudicca's revolt, and garrisoned the frontier at Hadrian's Wall.
