Vallejo Pigment – Brown Iron Oxide (VAL73108)
Vallejo Brown Iron Oxide Pigment is part of a high-quality range of earth and iron oxide pigments designed specifically for realistic terrain, weathering, and environmental effects on models and dioramas. These pigments are the same finely processed, micronized materials used in Vallejo paint formulations, ensuring excellent dispersion in water, acrylic mediums, turpentine, or other binders.
Brown Iron Oxide is ideal for replicating natural soil tones, rust deposits, industrial grime, and earthy buildup across historical, fantasy, sci-fi, and military subjects. The pigment can be applied dry or mixed with mediums to achieve a variety of finishes—from subtle shading to thick, textured mud effects.
For adhesion, Vallejo Matte Medium or Glaze Medium can be used. Glaze Medium’s slower drying time allows for extended manipulation, making it perfect for simulating water run-offs, streaking, and blending into surface details. Pigments can also be combined with products from Vallejo’s Water & Stone range, such as Transparent Water for oil and grease effects or Sandy Paste for coarse mud and heavy rust textures.
Non-toxic and supplied in a secure 30 ml pot (17–39 g depending on pigment density), this pigment is an essential tool for modelers seeking natural, versatile earth tones.
