Vallejo Game Colour Violet Wash (73.209) is part of the acclaimed Game Colour range by Acrylicos Vallejo — a specially formulated wash designed to flow into recesses, blend edges between camouflage shades, and add depth and realism to fantasy and wargame miniatures. Developed in collaboration with professional artists, this wash delivers smooth, even coverage with a matte finish, making it an essential tool for both beginner and experienced miniature painters.

For armour, vehicles, planes, ships, figures, and wargame miniatures. All surfaces exposed to sun, wind, dust, rain, and snow experience a change in colour — a loss of intensity, dulling, and general fading that is never even or uniform. Washes and filters are the perfect solution for reproducing these effects on a model.

The intuitive BSL (Base, Shadow, Light) method makes it easier to start painting miniatures. The colour series provides colour-matched triads of hues for the base, shade, and accent, greatly facilitating colour selection — especially for less experienced painters looking to set accents and shades with confidence.

The new Game Colour formula improves user-friendliness with colours that are evenly distributed, opaque, intense, and saturated. Easy to apply and blend with a matte finish, the selected pigments offer high colour intensity and strong resistance to UV fading. The state-of-the-art resin formula offers optimal durability against wear and prevents brush strokes from showing. Game Colour is designed for brush use but can also be airbrushed when diluted appropriately.

Washes are always useful for blending the edges of colours on models painted in various camouflage shades. They can be mixed together for further shade variations and used with airbrush or brush. Model Wash can also be mixed with pigments to achieve effects such as oil, flaked rust, mud, earth, dust, and moss — or mixed with acrylic colours to enhance heavy wear and weathering effects.

Formulated with a modified acrylic resin, the wash has a surface tension similar to traditional solvent-based washes and filters, with the advantage of a water-based medium. Average drying time is approximately 20 minutes; allow 40 minutes between multiple layers. Clean painting tools with water. For airbrush use, thin with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner to a milky consistency.
