Tistaminis Warhammer 40,000 League January 2026

IMPORTANT INFORMATION : This Warhammer 40,000 league takes place over several weeks and months. Please read carefully the description for the league.

League Rules and Structure

League Format

The season is run as a Grand Tournament–style league. Each player will play a total of five rounds. Each round has a three-week window during which players arrange their game time and location themselves. Scores are reported directly through the Best Coast Pairings (BCP) app. Pairings are generated each round in the same way as a standard tournament.

Scoring for each round will follow the most recent Games Workshop player pack released prior to the start of Round 1. This may include or exclude the optional 10 points for painting, depending on the final event configuration. Final placings are determined using standard tournament ranking methods.

Time and Clocks

Warhammer games can be lengthy, and respecting everyone’s time is mandatory. If your opponent requests the use of a chess clock, you must be able to accommodate it.

When using a clock, the total game time is three hours, allocated as one hour and thirty minutes per player. When playing a new player, an additional fifteen minutes per player may be granted in the spirit of sportsmanship and learning.

List Lock Rules

Army lists must be submitted before the deadline set for each round. If a player fails to submit a new list before the list submission deadline, their previously submitted list will be used.

All lists used in Round 4 are automatically locked for Round 5. Lists cannot be changed during Rounds 4 and 5 unless explicitly authorized by the league executive.

Models and Painting

Models should be fully assembled and WYSIWYG wherever possible. However, the league prioritizes participation and hobby growth. Conversions or proxies are permitted as long as your opponent has no objections and everything is clear and identifiable during play.

Dataslates, Codexes, and FAQs

Games Workshop dataslates, points adjustments, and new codex releases take effect starting the next round after release. Codex FAQs and Rules Commentary apply immediately upon official release.

Unofficial leaks or previewed rules that have not been formally published by Games Workshop are not permitted.

Sportsmanship and Conduct

All players are expected to conduct themselves with good sportsmanship. While there is no formal code of conduct, the ITC Code of Conduct should be used as a guideline.

Any sportsmanship or conduct issues will be reviewed and resolved by the league executive. The executive reserves the right to disqualify a player from a game, a round, or the entire league depending on the severity of the issue.

No-Shows and Unplayed Games

Players are expected to attend their scheduled matches as mutually arranged. If scheduling issues arise, players must notify a league executive with sufficient notice so that alternatives can be considered.

Repeated or malicious no-shows may result in an automatic loss for the round, awarding full points to the opponent, and may lead to further disciplinary action.

If both players are unable to play their match within the three-week round window, the game will be recorded as a 0–0 loss for both players. If the executive determines that one player was willing and able to play while the other was not, a 70–0 forfeit may be awarded at the admin’s discretion.
