The BTR-50PK is a tracked amphibious armoured personnel carrier developed from the PT-76 light tank chassis, offering excellent mobility across varied terrain and waterways. Entering service in 1954, it became the Soviet Army’s primary infantry fighting vehicle for more than a decade. Powered by a diesel engine and weighing 15 tons, the BTR-50PK carries a crew of two and up to 20 passengers, typically mounting a 7.62mm machine-gun for suppressive fire. In battle, it transports infantry into position and supports them with reliable, mobile firepower.
