Something stirs beneath the mountains.
From the dark halls of Moria to the ruined fortresses and forgotten roads of Middle-earth, warbands gather for battle. Heroes rally their followers, ancient enemies emerge from the shadows, and the sound of war drums echoes through the deep.
TistaMinis, in partnership with the Ontario Strategy Battle Game League (OSBGL), is proud to present Drums in the Deep – OSBGL 90, a 500-point Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game tournament featuring four fast-paced rounds of battle.
With only 16 spaces available, prepare your army, muster your warriors, and answer the drums.

Prizing & Cleanup |
Each game will have a strict 80-minute round time. Players should be ready to begin promptly at the announced start of each round.
Army Building
Armies are limited to:
- 500 points maximum
- 50 models maximum
Players are responsible for bringing a legal army for the event and all gaming materials required to play, including miniatures, dice, measuring tools, rules, army information, tokens, and any other necessary accessories.
Scenarios & Veto System
Scenarios will be determined using a Veto system.
Scenario pools will be rolled at the event, so players should come prepared for a variety of missions and battlefield objectives.
The Veto format gives players some influence over which scenario they play while still requiring armies to be flexible enough to compete across a range of possible missions.
Prizing
Prizing will be awarded in several categories throughout the event.
Podium Placements
The top-performing players will receive TistaMinis store credit, with prizes awarded based on final tournament standings.
Favourite Army
Attendees will vote for their Favourite Army of the event.
This is your opportunity to show off your painting, conversions, basing, theme, and overall presentation. Bring an army worthy of the halls of legend!
Random Raffle
We will also be holding a random prize raffle, giving everyone an opportunity to walk away with something regardless of their tournament standing.
Bring Terrain – Earn an Extra Raffle Chance!
Help us make the battlefields of Middle-earth look their best.
Any attendee who brings a complete table's worth of suitable terrain will receive an additional chance in the random prize raffle.
You will receive the additional raffle chance even if your terrain is not ultimately needed or used during the tournament.
Terrain should be suitable for tabletop gaming and sufficient to reasonably populate a full gaming table.
Player Expectations
This event is intended to provide a competitive but welcoming day of Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game.
Players are expected to:
- Play fairly and respectfully.
- Clearly communicate intentions, measurements, and game states with their opponent.
- Keep games moving to ensure rounds finish within the allotted 80 minutes.
- Bring all required rules and gaming materials.
- Treat opponents, organizers, miniatures, and terrain with respect.
- Work with tournament organizers to resolve any rules questions or disputes.
When uncertain about a rule or interaction, players should call an event organizer rather than allowing a disagreement to significantly delay the game.
Registration
The event is capped at 16 players.
Tickets must be purchased online through TistaMinis to secure your spot. Due to the limited capacity, players interested in attending are encouraged to register in advance.
Once all 16 spaces have been filled, registration will be considered full.
