Event overview

Join us at Tistaminis for a one-day Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game Matched Play tournament. This event is designed to be friendly, competitive, and welcoming, using current Matched Play scenarios at a 600-point level.

Date, location, and cost

Date: Saturday, April 18th
Location: Tistaminis Hobby Shop, 162 Parkdale Ave N, Hamilton, Ontario
Player Cap: 16 players
Entry Fee: $25 (100% goes toward prizing)
Lunch: Pizza lunch included with your ticket

Schedule

Doors Open: 9:00 AM
Player Briefing: 9:45 AM
Round 1: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Lunch Break: 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Round 2: 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
Round 3: 1:45 PM – 3:15 PM
Round 4: 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
Awards & Wrap-Up: 5:15 PM

All rounds are 90 minutes. Dice down when time is called.

Army construction

Armies are 600 points and must follow current Matched Play rules and restrictions.

Scenarios

All rounds will use official Matched Play scenarios. Scenarios will be announced at the start of each round.

Pairings and scoring

Pairings will be Swiss-style.
Wins, draws, and losses will be recorded each round, with overall standings determined by tournament results and standard tie-breakers as needed.

Secret Side Quest

You pick a hero that holds on to a prize (like a secret message/loot etc. whatever you like)

If you keep your prize +1VP

If you take your opponents +2VP

If you have both +3VP

Still capped at 20VP total for games.

*If the Hero is killed outside of combat or flees they drop it on the ground so it can be picked up.*

Awards

Prizes will be awarded for:
First Place
Second Place
Third Place
Best Painted
Wooden Spoon (Last Place)

What to bring

Please bring your fully assembled army, dice, tape measure, tokens/objectives, and a clearly written army list. Models should be painted to a tabletop standard for Best Painted consideration.

Sportsmanship

This is a friendly competitive event. Clear communication, fair play, and respect for opponents are expected at all times. The Tournament Organizer’s ruling is final.
