Oathkeeper Cannon – The Hand of Grungni
The Oathkeeper Cannon is a masterpiece of duardin craftsmanship, combining advanced mechanical engineering with the ancient traditions of runecraft.
Widely employed among the war throngs of the Khazalite Holds, these powerful artillery pieces provide devastating ranged support.
Unlike conventional cannons, the Oathkeeper uses magical runes to empower its ammunition.
Each shot is prepared through a carefully coordinated process involving the artillery crew, culminating in a runestriker activating a rune with a hammer.
The resulting magical energy is transferred to the projectile, allowing the cannon to unleash destructive effects upon its enemies.
Rune-Enhanced Artillery
The Oathkeeper Cannon uses specialized rune magic to enhance its destructive power.
Its ammunition can inflict a variety of effects, including:
-
Sundering heavily protected targets
-
Scorching enemy formations
-
Disorienting opposing forces
-
Delivering powerful ranged damage
-
Threatening dangerous enemy units
These abilities make the Oathkeeper Cannon a formidable artillery weapon for Khazalite Holds armies.
Precision Engineering
The Oathkeeper Cannon is designed for long-range precision.
Its sturdy construction and resilient carriage allow it to provide continued artillery support throughout a battle.
The cannon's substantial barrel is built to launch specially shaped stone projectiles, combining physical force with powerful magical effects.
This combination of engineering and runecraft reflects the Khazalites' mastery of both stone and ancient magic.
Three Duardin Artillery Crew
The kit includes three crew members, each performing an important role in operating the Oathkeeper Cannon.
Stone Projectile Preparation
One crew member draws shaped stone ammunition from the earth, preparing the projectile for firing.
Rune Preparation
Another crew member prepares the magical rune that will empower the cannon's shot.
Runestriker
An apprentice runestriker strikes the prepared rune with a hammer, transferring its magical power to the ammunition.
Together, the crew demonstrates the precision and ritual involved in Khazalite artillery warfare.
Stonebreaker Mortar – Devastating Bombardment
The kit can alternatively be assembled as a Stonebreaker Mortar.
Unlike the precision-focused Oathkeeper Cannon, the Stonebreaker Mortar is designed to deliver powerful bombardments across greater distances.
Its extended range and larger blast make it particularly effective against large concentrations of enemy troops.
For players looking to threaten massed infantry formations, the Stonebreaker Mortar provides a different approach to Khazalite artillery support.
