The Rolling Pin Hexagons is a textured rolling pin designed to press a clean, continuous hexagonal pattern into clay and modeling putties. Ideal for sci-fi bases, industrial flooring, terrain tiles, and decorative hobby surfaces where uniform geometry actually matters.
Made from clear PMMA plastic, it offers excellent non-stick performance, smooth rolling action, and consistent depth across the entire pattern. The material is non-toxic, durable, and easy to clean. Multiple texture options are available so you can match the pattern to your specific project.

Use Instructions
Mix the putty or clay according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Roll it out onto a flat surface to an even thickness. For best results, smooth the surface first using a plain rolling pin.
Lightly wet the textured rolling pin if needed to prevent sticking, depending on the material. Roll slowly with even pressure to achieve a consistent hex pattern. Trim excess material with a sharp knife once the putty or clay has dried to avoid deformation.
Compatible Materials
Works with most hobby clays and putties. Polymer clays such as Fimo or Sculpey are especially easy to use and allow corrections before baking. These can be applied directly to MDF bases and baked together at approximately 150°C for around 15 minutes. A slight toasted smell from MDF is normal.
Epoxy putties can be applied directly to plastic bases without baking. Green Stuff benefits from light moisture or a release agent to reduce sticking. Firmer putties such as Milliput are also suitable but should not be over-wetted. If the mixture remains sticky, continue kneading until workable.
Cleaning is particularly important after using epoxy putties.
Care Instructions
Clean the rolling pin after use with water and a scratch brush to remove residue and preserve the engraved detail.
