Japan’s answer to the M4 Sherman—heavily armed, heavily armored, and built for a fight.
The Type 4 Chi-To represents the pinnacle of Japanese medium tank development during World War II. Designed to take on Allied armor head-to-head, the Chi-To featured significant upgrades over earlier models like the Type 97 Chi-Ha, including 75mm of frontal armor and a long-barreled 75mm high-velocity gun capable of threatening even the formidable M4 Sherman.

Though it shared drivetrain components with its predecessor, the Chi-To was otherwise an entirely new design—wider, taller, and significantly more advanced. At roughly 30 tons, it was the most powerful tank Japan ever put into limited production before the war’s end.

This platoon includes five resin and metal Chi-To tanks, ideal for representing Japan’s last stand in Flames of War late-war scenarios.
