About the Unit
British mechanised platoons are armed with a variety of weapons to handle any battlefield threat. Standard infantry carry L1A1 SLR rifles and GPMGs, supported by Carl Gustav recoilless rifles and 66mm light anti-tank weapons for armour threats. Mortar teams provide smoke to cover advances and blind enemy machine-guns, while sustained-fire GPMGs lay down heavy suppressive fire. Together, they form a flexible and well-trained fighting force.
