Flames of War Polish 76mm Infantry Gun Platoon

Support your Polish infantry with additional battlefield firepower using the Flames of War Polish 76mm Infantry Gun Platoon. Designed to accompany infantry formations, these guns provide useful supporting fire against enemy troops, defensive positions, and other battlefield threats during games inspired by the 1939 campaign.

An Infantry Gun Platoon is a natural addition to a Polish Rifle Company, providing heavier weapons that can support your frontline troops while your riflemen maneuver, defend objectives, or launch attacks.

Pair the platoon with machine guns, anti-tank weapons, artillery, and 7TP tanks to build a more complete Polish Flames of War force.

76mm Infantry Guns

76mm infantry guns provide frontline troops with heavier supporting fire than their standard small arms.

Position the guns where they can support your infantry and engage enemy positions that might otherwise slow your advance.

Use the platoon to:

• Support Rifle Platoons

• Engage enemy infantry

• Target defensive positions

• Protect important objectives

• Strengthen defensive lines

• Support assaults

• Add heavier firepower to your formation

Support Your Rifle Company

The 76mm Infantry Gun Platoon works naturally alongside Polish infantry formations.

Combine it with:

• Polish Rifle Company HQ

• Rifle Platoons

• Machine-Gun Platoons

• 37mm Anti-Tank Platoons

• Artillery

• 7TP tanks

• Other Polish support units

This gives your force a wider range of weapons for responding to different battlefield threats.

Polish Forces in 1939

Infantry support weapons played an important role during the Polish campaign of 1939, where units were required to fight across everything from open farmland to villages and prepared defensive positions.

The Infantry Gun Platoon is an excellent addition for historically themed battles involving:

• Defensive actions

• Village fighting

• Infantry assaults

• Delaying actions

• Fortified positions

• Road defenses

• Rural battlefields

• Combined-arms engagements

Battlefield Support

Infantry guns are most effective when positioned where they can support the rest of your force.

Use terrain to establish firing positions while your Rifle Platoons occupy objectives and engage enemy troops.

The additional firepower can help create a layered defense or provide support as your infantry advances.

Excellent Painting Project

Gun teams provide plenty of opportunities to create detailed battlefield scenes.

Try adding:

• Polish uniforms

• Gun crew equipment

• Ammunition crates

• Gun shields

• Metallic components

• Wooden equipment

• Grass

• Mud

• Earthworks

• Battlefield debris

Scenic bases can help make each gun look like part of an established firing position.
