The 40M Turán I and 41M Turán II were Hungary’s primary medium tanks, developed from the Czech Škoda T-21 design. Armed with either a 40mm gun (Turán I) or a more powerful 75mm gun (Turán II), these tanks saw action on the Eastern Front from 1942 onward. While outclassed by heavier Soviet armor later in the war, the Turán provided essential armored support for Hungarian infantry and mechanized divisions.
