Flames of War German Hummel Artillery Battery
The Hummel (“Bumblebee”) was one of Germany’s most successful self-propelled artillery pieces of World War II. Introduced at the Battle of Kursk, it was built on a modified Panzer IV chassis and armed with the powerful 15cm sFH 18 howitzer. The Hummel provided German panzer divisions with mobile heavy artillery capable of delivering devastating bombardments in support of attacks or defensive actions. Its combination of range, firepower, and mobility ensured it remained in service until the end of the war.
