The Dao

Dao are genies closely associated with the elemental power of earth.

They covet the valuable treasures found beneath the surface, particularly:

• Gemstones

• Precious minerals

• Gold

• Jewelry

• Fine craftsmanship

• Rare subterranean treasures

Their innate magic allows them to reach places that would be extremely difficult for ordinary adventurers to access.

Ally, Guide, or Enemy

A Dao encounter doesn't necessarily need to begin with combat.

Their desire for valuable gems and beautifully crafted objects can provide adventurers with opportunities for negotiation and trade.

A Dao might serve as:

• A subterranean guide

• A source of information

• A powerful merchant

• A reluctant ally

• A quest giver

• A dangerous rival

• A major enemy

• A guardian of underground treasure

This flexibility makes the miniature useful across many different types of D&D encounters.

Perfect for Subterranean Campaigns

The Dao fits naturally into adventures involving underground locations and elemental magic.

Use the miniature in:

• Caverns

• Mines

• Underground cities

• Elemental planes

• Ancient ruins

• Gem-filled vaults

• Lost temples

• Deep dungeons

The model can also represent other earth-aligned genies, elemental nobles, or magical characters in homebrew settings.

Pre-Primed for Painting

The miniature arrives pre-primed, reducing the preparation required before painting.

Deeply sculpted details make it well suited to techniques such as:

• Base coating

• Washing

• Drybrushing

• Layering

• Edge highlighting

• Glazing

• Contrast-style painting

Some translucent parts may remain unprimed to preserve their transparent appearance.

Excellent Painting Project

The Dao's connection to gems, minerals, and elemental earth provides plenty of inspiration for creative color schemes.

Try painting:

• Rich fabrics

• Gold jewelry

• Gemstones

• Earth tones

• Metallic armor

• Magical effects

• Crystals

• Stone textures

• Elemental energy

• Ornate accessories

The miniature can be painted in traditional fantasy colors or customized to match the elemental aesthetic of your campaign.

50mm Clear Plastic Base

The set includes a 50mm clear plastic base.

The transparent base helps the finished miniature blend naturally with different dungeon maps, gaming mats, and terrain without requiring a permanently themed scenic base.
