SPACE MARINES: KAIUS KONORIUS
Add a master duellist and veteran champion to your Ultramarines with Kaius Konorius. A warrior whose history stretches back to his days as a neophyte alongside Marneus Calgar and Chaplain Cassius, Konorius has spent his long career pursuing martial excellence rather than battlefield command.
Following Calgar's near-fatal confrontation with Abaddon the Despoiler, the Chapter Master called upon his old comrade to serve as his champion. Armed with the master-crafted power weapons Severance and Rebuke, Konorius can carve through massed enemies or focus his skill against dangerous priority targets.
This multipart plastic kit builds 1 Kaius Konorius for Ultramarines armies in games of Warhammer 40,000.

Kaius Konorius
Kaius Konorius is an exceptionally experienced Ultramarines warrior whose connection to the Chapter's greatest heroes reaches back centuries.
As a neophyte, he fought alongside:
- Marneus Calgar
- Chaplain Cassius
While other warriors rose through the Chapter's command structure, Konorius chose a different path.
Rather than pursuing leadership, he dedicated himself to becoming an exceptional individual combatant.
Calgar's Champion
Konorius' martial abilities eventually led Marneus Calgar to call upon him for a particularly important duty.
After Calgar's near-fatal duel against Abaddon the Despoiler, Konorius was summoned to serve as the Chapter Master's champion.
His role places him close to the Ultramarines' most important leaders, where his exceptional combat ability can be turned against any enemy dangerous enough to threaten them.
Master Duellist
Konorius has spent his long life honing his skills with a blade.
Rather than specializing exclusively in fighting one type of opponent, his equipment allows him to threaten both massed enemies and powerful individual targets.
Use him to:
- Protect important characters
- Engage enemy champions
- Attack priority targets
- Cut through infantry
- Counter enemy melee specialists
- Support Ultramarines leaders
- Anchor a close-combat engagement
Few opponents can afford to ignore him once he reaches combat.
Severance & Rebuke
Kaius carries two master-crafted power weapons known as Severance and Rebuke.
These weapons are central to his role as a dedicated duellist and provide a striking visual focus for the miniature.
Their paired appearance reinforces Konorius' identity as a warrior who has devoted himself to perfecting personal combat.
Heavy Bolt Pistol
Before entering melee, Konorius can bring his heavy bolt pistol to bear.
This gives him additional ranged capability as he closes with his target, allowing him to soften up an enemy before committing to the decisive clash of blades.
Protect Your Leaders
Kaius is particularly well suited to fighting alongside important Ultramarines characters.
Use him as a veteran bodyguard accompanying:
- Marneus Calgar
- Ultramarines Captains
- Chaplains
- Other important characters
- Command formations
His combination of experience and close-combat ability makes him a thematic protector for the Chapter's leadership.
Two Head Options
The miniature can be assembled with either:
The helmet provides a ceremonial champion appearance, while the bare head emphasizes Konorius' grizzled veteran status.
Excellent Painting Project
As an Ultramarines champion, Kaius provides plenty of opportunities for additional detail beyond a conventional Space Marine.
Try painting:
- Ultramarines blue armor
- Gold trim
- Power weapon effects
- Veteran markings
- Battle damage
- Heavy bolt pistol details
- Facial features
- Helmet plume
- Honor markings
- Scenic basing
His status as an individual character also makes him a natural model for additional freehand and personalized heraldry.
