Konflikt 47 British MK IIC Automated Director
Advanced research into automated systems has progressed at an unexpected pace. In less than a year since the first deployment of Mk I Automated Infantry in Belgium, fully automated platoons are increasingly operating with independent organization and command through automated platoon commanders.
These “Automated Directors” are based on the Mk II Design, featuring improved computational and radio systems. This allows them to distribute orders to other automated units across a wider radius. Fully automated platoons offer clear advantages, including avoiding British human casualties and remaining immune to the increasingly harmful psychological effects seen on the battlefield.
At the same time, Automated Directors lack the imagination of human commanders. Their options are limited to carrying out tactics and orders pre-programmed into their systems before battle by dedicated British engineers.
