The F-4EJ Phantom II is an interceptor (scrambled to welcome enemy aircraft) fighter aircraft adopted by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force based on the F-4E developed in the United States .
Due to the circumstances of Japan at that time, the equipment to control the bombing and the aerial refueling equipment have been removed.
Others are almost the same as the F-4E type of the US military.
F-4EJ was produced in Japan from the middle, and the last production machine became the final machine of all phantoms. (Total production of all phantoms: 5,195)
F-4EJ was deployed at bases all over Japan, but now the aircraft is old and some have been converted to F-4EJ modified and reconnaissance type RF-4EJ.
