Use Instructions:
First, properly mix the putty or clay according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Next, spread the material onto the surface to be textured, ensuring it is smooth and even before rolling. A plain rolling pin is recommended for this step.
Depending on the putty or clay used, lightly wet the rolling pin to prevent sticking.
Slowly roll the pin across the surface, applying even pressure to achieve a consistent texture.
Finally, trim away excess material with a sharp knife once the putty or clay has dried to avoid distortion.
Materials Compatibility:
This rolling pin works with a wide range of putties and clays. Polymer clays such as Fimo or Sculpey are especially easy to use, allowing corrections before baking. For textured bases, polymer clay can be applied directly to MDF bases and baked together at approximately 150°C for 15 minutes.
Epoxy putties can also be used and do not require baking, making them ideal for direct application on plastic bases.
For Green Stuff, lightly wet the pin or the putty, or reduce stickiness with talcum powder or sculpting vaseline. Other epoxy putties like Milliput are suitable, but should not be over-wetted; additional kneading is preferred to reduce stickiness.
Care Instructions:
After use, clean the rolling pin thoroughly with water. If needed, use a scratch brush to remove any residue, especially after working with epoxy putties.
Safety:
Children should use this tool only under close adult supervision.
