About the Vehicle:
The Marine Corps adapted the 75mm Pack Howitzer to half-track and light tank chassis to create mobile gun platforms that could keep up with infantry during assaults. Known as 75mm Self-Propelled Mounts (SPM), these vehicles offered both artillery firepower and the ability to engage Japanese fortifications, bunkers, and light armor at close range.
