Designed to represent the dense hedgerows, narrow lanes, and enclosed fields that characterized much of the fighting following the D-Day landings, this set adds both historical atmosphere and new tactical challenges to your tabletop.

The Normandy bocage transformed ordinary farmland into a formidable defensive landscape. Thick hedgerows restricted visibility, slowed advancing troops, and created natural defensive positions that could conceal infantry, anti-tank guns, and armored vehicles until attackers were dangerously close.

Designed for Flames of War 4th Edition Late War games, this pack provides terrain pieces, mission materials, and accessories for creating scenarios inspired by the difficult battles fought through the Normandy countryside in 1944.

Fighting in the Bocage

The bocage countryside presented Allied forces with one of the greatest challenges of the Normandy campaign. Dense hedgerows divided the landscape into small fields, restricting visibility and making coordinated advances difficult.

On the tabletop, bocage terrain can dramatically change how a battle develops. Movement routes become more important, firing lanes are restricted, and units can use the dense terrain to approach or defend important positions.

This creates battles where maneuvering and positioning can be just as important as raw firepower.
