Bandai Perfect Grade Gundam Kits – Masterpieces of the Gunpla World

Perfect Grade (PG) Gundam kits represent the pinnacle of Bandai model engineering, offering unmatched detail, articulation, and scale for experienced builders and collectors. Standing at 1/60 scale, these massive kits are designed for advanced hobbyists who want to experience every internal mechanism, LED option, and armor panel in glorious detail. Our Perfect Grade Gundam collection features legendary suits like the PG Strike Gundam, RX-78-2, Unicorn, and Exia, each delivering an immersive, rewarding build process for those ready to take their Gunpla skills to the next level.

Perfect Grade (PG) kits are Bandai’s highest-level Gunpla kits, designed at 1/60 scale and packed with intricate inner frames, mechanical detail, and moving parts. These kits feature hundreds of pieces, optional LED units, and highly poseable designs, making them the most advanced and complex builds available in the Gunpla lineup.

Perfect Grade models are built at 1/60 scale and typically stand between 12 and 15 inches tall, depending on the mobile suit. Their size allows for incredible detailing and inner frame construction that you won’t find in smaller grades like HG, RG, or even MG kits. They’re ideal for display and centerpiece builds.

Perfect Grade kits are not recommended for beginners. Due to their high part counts, mechanical complexity, and extended build times, they’re best suited for experienced builders. However, determined beginners who enjoy a challenge and follow instructions closely can still enjoy a PG build with patience and the right tools.

No, all Bandai PG kits are snap-fit and do not require glue. They are molded in color and look great out of the box. That said, many advanced hobbyists choose to paint or customize their PG kits to enhance panel lines, add weathering, or create custom color schemes. Optional topcoat finishes and decals can also improve the final appearance.

Essential tools include high-quality plastic nippers, hobby knives, sanding tools, and a cutting mat. Tweezers and panel lining pens are also helpful for detail work. For advanced customization, an airbrush setup, primer, and topcoat can be used to elevate the finish. An LED lighting kit may also be included or sold separately, depending on the PG kit.

Build times vary depending on experience and complexity, but most PG kits take between 15 and 40 hours to complete. This includes time for nub cleanup, assembly, and any optional detailing. Builders often tackle these kits over several sessions or weekends to enjoy the process and avoid fatigue.
