TEAM YANKEE AMERICAN M113 PLATOON (PLASTIC x5)
The M113 became one of the most widely used and recognizable armoured personnel carriers in the world, forming the backbone of U.S. mechanised infantry forces throughout the Cold War. Introduced in 1961 to replace the M59, the M113 brought major improvements in mobility, protection, and firepower thanks to its lightweight aluminium hull and versatile design.
Equipped to transport rifle squads directly into battle, the mechanised infantry platoon saw a significant boost in combat power with the addition of the M60 machine-gun to each squad—amplifying the effect of their new M16 rifles and M79 grenade launchers. Together with the reliable “tracks,” U.S. infantry became faster, more flexible, and more capable of rapid deployment across varied terrain.
