Shield Captains

Shield Captains are among the most accomplished warriors of the Adeptus Custodes.

Their status requires more than exceptional combat ability. These commanders possess the insight, knowledge, and strategic understanding required to direct Custodian forces against the most dangerous threats facing the Imperium.

Each Shield Captain represents the extraordinary capabilities of the Custodes concentrated into a single warrior.

An Exemplar of Terra's Might

The Shield Captain can serve as the commanding centerpiece of your Custodes army.

Use this character to lead:

• Sentinel Guard

• Custodian infantry

• Venatari

• Aquilon Terminators

• Dreadnoughts

• Jetbike units

• Other warriors of the Ten Thousand

The ornate model is designed to stand out among even the highly decorated warriors of the Custodes.

Eternity Blade

The Shield Captain carries an imposing Eternity Blade.

Both a symbol of office and a deadly weapon, the blade reinforces the character's status as one of the most accomplished fighters within the Ten Thousand.

Its size and ornate appearance also make it a natural focal point for the miniature.

Praesidium Shield

The character is protected by a Praesidium Shield, the advanced energy-field reinforced shield used by the Custodes.

Combined with the Shield Captain's armor, the shield gives the miniature the heavily protected appearance appropriate for a warrior expected to lead from the front.

Its broad surface also provides an excellent area for detailed painting and heraldry.

Ornate Custodian Armor

The miniature is lavished with the intricate details associated with the Emperor's personal guardians.

These include:

• Sculpted iconography

• Fine filigree

• Ornate armor plates

• Decorative weapon details

• Custodian symbols

These elements make the Shield Captain an excellent character model for painters looking for a centerpiece project.

Two Head Options

The kit includes 2 head options:

• 1 Helmeted Head

• 1 Bare Head

Choose the helmet for a fully armored battlefield appearance or the bare head to give your commander a more individual identity.

Use as a Tribune

In Warhammer: The Horus Heresy, this miniature can also represent a Tribune.

Tribunes are mighty Custodian leaders held in exceptional esteem by their fellow warriors, making this model suitable for representing an even higher-ranking commander in a Legio Custodes army.

Warhammer 40,000 & Horus Heresy

The Shield Captain can be used across two Warhammer game systems.

Warhammer 40,000

Field the miniature as a Shield Captain leading your Adeptus Custodes.

Warhammer: The Horus Heresy

Use the model as a Shield Captain or Tribune within a Legio Custodes force during the Age of Darkness.

This cross-game compatibility makes the miniature particularly useful for collectors building Custodes armies for both settings.

Excellent Painting Project

As an individual character, the Shield Captain is an ideal model for additional painting detail.

Experiment with:

• Auramite gold

• Metallic shading

• Rich red details

• Eternity Blade effects

• Shield heraldry

• Gemstones

• Filigree

• Facial details

• Custodian iconography

• Scenic basing
