CUSTODES: CUSTODIAN GUARD SODALITY

Field the legendary guardians of the Golden Throne with the Custodian Guard Sodality. Stronger, faster, and more resilient than even the superhuman warriors of the Space Marines, Custodian Guards represent the extraordinary martial power and authority of the Emperor.

This multipart plastic kit builds 6 Custodian Guards for Legio Custodes armies in Warhammer: The Horus Heresy and Adeptus Custodes armies in Warhammer 40,000. Armed with iconic Guardian Spears, these elite warriors combine ranged firepower with exceptional close-combat ability.

One Custodian can alternatively carry a Vexilla, while an extensive selection of interchangeable heads and helmet plumes makes it easy to give each warrior an individual appearance.

Guardians of the Golden Throne

The Custodian Guard are among the most formidable warriors in the Imperium.

Created to stand beside the Emperor himself, each Custodian possesses extraordinary:

  • Strength

  • Speed

  • Resilience

  • Combat skill

  • Experience

  • Equipment

Their capabilities surpass even those of the Adeptus Astartes, allowing small numbers of Custodians to confront enemies that would overwhelm conventional warriors.

Guardian Spears

Each Custodian Guard is armed with an iconic Guardian Spear.

These master-crafted weapons combine ranged and melee capability into a single armament, allowing the Custodes to unleash bolt fire as they approach before finishing their enemies in close combat.

The Guardian Spear is one of the most recognizable weapons of the Ten Thousand and gives the unit its distinctive battlefield appearance.

Take & Hold Objectives

Custodian Guards are not simply ceremonial protectors.

Their combination of durability, mobility, and offensive capability makes them ideal for advancing directly toward strategically important areas of the battlefield.

Use them to:

  • Claim objectives

  • Hold critical positions

  • Engage elite enemy units

  • Advance through hostile fire

  • Support Custodes characters

  • Break enemy infantry

  • Form the core of your Custodes force

Few enemies can easily dislodge Custodian Guards once they have taken a position.

In Auramite Clad

Each miniature is covered in the ornate detailing expected of the Emperor's personal bodyguards.

The armor features:

  • Sculpted iconography

  • Intricate filigree

  • Decorative armor plates

  • Custodian symbols

  • Ornate weapon details

These features give the squad an appropriately magnificent appearance on the tabletop.

Optional Vexilla

One Custodian Guard can replace their Guardian Spear with a Vexilla.

This towering standard creates an imposing centerpiece within the unit and provides another way to distinguish one warrior from the rest of the Sodality.

23 Interchangeable Heads

The kit provides an extensive selection of head options:

  • 12 Helmeted Heads

  • 11 Bare Heads

With 23 heads for six miniatures, there are plenty of choices for creating distinctive warriors.

Build the entire squad helmeted for a unified appearance or mix helmeted and bare heads throughout the unit.

Interchangeable Helmet Plumes

The kit includes 6 helmet plumes that can be interchanged across the helmeted heads.

This provides another level of customization while maintaining the recognizable appearance of the Custodian Guard.

Warhammer 40,000 & Horus Heresy

The Custodian Guard Sodality can be used across two Warhammer game systems.

Warhammer 40,000

Field the unit with your Adeptus Custodes, providing elite infantry for your shield company.

Warhammer: The Horus Heresy

Deploy them as part of a Legio Custodes army during the wars of the Age of Darkness.

Their cross-game compatibility makes the kit particularly useful for collectors building Custodes forces for both settings.

Excellent Painting Project

The combination of ornate armor and iconic Guardian Spears makes the Custodian Guard an excellent showcase for metallic painting techniques.

Experiment with:

  • Auramite gold

  • Metallic shading

  • Rich red details

  • Guardian Spear effects

  • Gemstones

  • Filigree

  • Helmet plumes
