Innistrad Crimson Vow

Innistrad Crimson Vow

It may feel like Adventures in the Forgotten Realms has just been released on paper and online, but it’s never too early to start waiting for the next Magic: The Gathering set (or in this case the next two sets).

The September and November sets are thematically linked this year, meaning the consecutive sets will be held in Innistrad. The horror-themed airplane is one of the most popular places for the collectible card game, so there is a lot of excitement this fall.

Magic: The Gathering Midnight Hunt was released in September and Crimson Vow will follow in November. Each set will be legal standard and the release of Midnight Hunt will help signal the large standard Fall 2021 rotation that greatly changes the metagame.

What to expect from Innistrad Crimson Vow?

Innistrad Crimson Vow (MID) will officially arrive at MTG Arena on November 11, 2021, around 3 p.m UTC. We have then gathered all the information and resources to be ready for patch day, so that nothing is lost, especially all the content we will post during the next month.

Crimson Vow is the next expansion of Magic: The Gathering to Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, and will be the sixth set in post-rotation Standard. The launch of this set was changed to earlier than usual, but there aren’t changes made regarding the annual rotation cycle.

With Innistrad Crimson Vow, the story continues. The set’s theme is vampires, by featuring the largest vampire wedding in the history of Innistrad: a link between the lineages of Markov and Voldaren to control the fate of Innistrad.

Midnight Hunt is focused on the werewolves and will feature the return of mechanics imposed on other Innistrad sets, such as Flashback, which allows the player to pay an alternative cost to cast spells from the graveyard, then send him into exile.

Those who lurk from the shadows are not only mindless zombies and frantic werewolves, but also the eternally undead with their own calculating designs. Why would all the vampires come together for an ultra-exclusive wedding and reception that everyone is dying to attend? The next Innistrad: Crimson Vow set has the answer to your question and more than that.

Although we didn’t see a single card from the set, there are legitimate reasons to believe that certain cards might get better with the release of the set.  Why? It's because there are some things that we’re fairly certain of when it comes to the set.

Let’s see some of the cards that might get better in the upcoming set.

Bloodline Culling

If you get an indestructible creature, this card just instantly gets like a million times more playable, but if decayed is still an ability in the next set. This card could stand to be a little better.

Can’t Stay Away

As the card pool widens, cards like this just get better because they have a wider range of targets they can hit, and once this has like a really important three-drop creature it can make sure it stays on the battlefield, the card gets way better.

Temple of The Dragon Queen

We’ve got five new dual lands in Midnight Hunt and they’ve been pretty important so far in this format. It will not surprise us if there are other five in Innistrad Crimson Vow. If they are in the set, it means a huge deal. In case they aren’t in the set, the  Temple of the Dragon Queen will be a great substitute for those lands.

Pyre of Heroes

This card offers pretty good effects. It allows you to sacrifice something and then get something from the graveyard if you combine it with an Orah card. They can do a little combo that sounds ridiculous, but at the same time pretty powerful.

Arlinn, the Pack’s Hope

It's a pretty boring pick, but we think that if this card is part of the set, it might get a little bit better. There are some playable werewolves that push the deck to the moon and the day-night cycle stuff is going to continue.

Katilda, Dawnhart Prime

This card will be pretty interesting if it appears in the set. If you get the right human deck in this set, then Katilda will be a good actual magic card at some point in her life cycle.

Patrician Geist

This card is a spirit card and we all know that spirits are among the many types in the previous set. So, if there are more disturbed cards in the set, Patrician Geist will definitely have a way better role than usual. Especially if there are some good flashback cards. There are a couple of ways that this card could come into prominence.

Keep in mind that we don’t have a piece of certain information about what cards are part of the set, but we wanted to share with you our thoughts regarding the set as there isn’t much information about it.

Stay tuned for more info and make a pre-order for the most waited set ever!
