Tamiya TAM14016 HONDA CX500 TURBO (1/12) New

The Honda CX500 Turbo (another designation: CX500 TC) is a Japanese sports motorcycle that was presented to the public for the first time in 1982. The same year also saw the start of serial production, which lasted only for one year! The CX500 Turbo was developed and put into production to expand the market offering of the Honda CX series of motorcycles. Its design was largely based on the CX500 and CX650 models. The main changes were the use of an efficient turbocharger and the innovative electronic fuel injection (PGM-FI), which was a highly avant-garde design for the early 1980s and made the CX500 Turbo the first mass-produced motorcycle to use such a solution. Thanks to these two novelties, the engine power increased to 82 hp. A novelty, however, which was also used in other models of the CX series, was the liquid-cooled, not air-cooled 4-cylinder engine.
