MIDDLE-EARTH SBG: BALIN KING OF MORIA AND FLOI STONEHAND
In the lore of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, Balin, a Dwarf of Durin's Folk, was indeed a prominent figure and briefly ruled as King of Khazad-dûm, also known as Moria. However, his reign was cut short due to the awakening of the Balrog, a fearsome creature of fire and shadow, which ultimately led to the downfall of the Dwarf kingdom.
Floi Stonehand is a less well-known character in Tolkien's works, but he is mentioned as one of Balin's companions in "The Fellowship of the Ring." He was part of Balin's ill-fated expedition to reclaim Moria. Unfortunately, their attempt to retake the ancient Dwarf kingdom ended in tragedy, as recounted in "The Lord of the Rings."
In the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game by Games Workshop, both Balin and Floi Stonehand are featured as heroes, representing their roles in the events of the Third Age. Balin is typically depicted as a formidable leader and warrior, while Floi Stonehand may be portrayed as a loyal companion and skilled fighter, each with their own unique abilities and traits.
Players can include these characters in their armies to recreate key battles and moments from Tolkien's legendarium or to craft their own narratives within the rich tapestry of Middle-earth.
Contains one resin miniature – Balin the Dwarf, King of Moria – and one metal miniature, Flói Stonehand, supplied with 2 Citadel 25mm Bases. Their rules can be found in Armies of The Lord of The Rings™.
