-The AH-64D Apache Longbow is a development of the all-weather attack helicopter AH-64A Apache developed and adopted in accordance with the U.S. Army's Advanced Attack Helicopter (AAH) plan. The model without radar was called AH-64C, but at the end of 1993, the name of AH-64C was abolished and it was called AH-64D Apache Longbow regardless of whether or not radar was installed.

-The biggest feature of the onboard sensors is the Fire Control Radar (FCR), which is also called the longbow radar attached to the top of the main rotor mast, which detects the target, identifies it, automatically selects the attack target, and integrates it. It is a new generation attack helicopter with excellent controllability during battle due to system management.

-The Ground Self-Defense Force has decided to introduce the AH-64D Apache Longbow as a successor to the AH-1S.

-On December 15, 2004, the first unit for the Ground Self-Defense Force, which made its first flight in Mesa, Arizona, USA, was subjected to various tests for one year after that and was carried into Fuji Heavy Industries in Utsunomiya on December 18, 2005. Reassembly was done.

-At this time, equipment for the Ground Self Defense Force specification is also being done.

-The Ground Self-Defense Force's AH-64D was manufactured by Boeing in the United States for Units 1 and 2, but Fuji Heavy Industries plans to license about half of the subsequent aircraft.

-March 16, 2006 Unit 1 ferry to the Ground Self Defense Force Akeno Garrison.

-In the future, various tests and inspections will be performed in Akeno and it will proceed to actual battle deployment.
