Sergio Pérez, commonly known as "Checo," is a Mexican professional racing driver who competes in Formula One (F1). Born on January 26, 1990, in Guadalajara, Mexico, Pérez began his racing career in karting before moving up through the ranks of various junior formula series.

Pérez made his Formula One debut in 2011 with the Sauber team, impressing with his speed and consistency early in his career. He quickly gained recognition as a talented driver and secured his first podium finish in the 2012 Malaysian Grand Prix, finishing second.
