Magic the Gathering: Kamigawa Neon Dynasty

On Thursday December 16, 2021, Wizards of the Coast, during the weekly video appointment, Weekly MTG, and in an article revealed the official dates regarding the next expansion: Kamigawa Neon Dynasty.

In addition to the official dates were revealed some art and cards of the next expansion.

Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty is the first science fiction edition created by Magic the Gathering. All the advances that have come out of the collection have been brutal, those of letters and the kinematics (below we leave the video that is very cool).

Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty combines the organic magic of Kamigawa and technology to create a bright future. Players who have been in the game for more years will remember the first time they visited the plane for those who have not yet traveled it will be an opportunity that will dazzle you. One thing is very clear, in this collection we will find letters for all tastes.

In the Bundles, players will be able to get a wide variety of cards with lots of color and chrome, plus a traditional foil promotional card with alternative art from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, so they are a wonderful product for great collectors.

Atsushi, the Blazing Sky

Kaito Shizuki seems really strong, especially if he can count on some low-cost creatures already on the field when he comes into the game. This is because it basically disappears and reappears (so it is little exposed to the opposing creatures) and in addition allows us to make advantage cards, protects and can also count on a really not bad ultimate. -

In addition to dimensional travelers (which in the original Kamigawa had not yet been introduced) there will be many legendary creatures and in particular will be back the traditional cycle of dragons (1 for color of course).

I don’t know about you but I don’t mind at all this bird since it has a good leotard for its cost (especially because it flies and overwhelms) and also can activate an effect of your choice when it dies. The first can be very useful especially the next round to when it comes on the field or anyway when you have plenty mana but on the other hand create as many as 3 tokens treasure is not to be underestimated as a possibility.

Hidetsugu’s Second Rite

I also see it simple to place especially in red mono dragons in Alchemy but also in Gruul from Historic. But we will not only deal with many dragons but also with demons, since the Oni are a classic of the history and mythology of the rising sun: let’s look at one in particular, a menacing ogre demon named Hidetsugu. You may remember it for the particular Hidetsugu’s Second Rite card and know that this time it will be even worse than before.

Hidetsugu, Devouring Chaos

Another legendary creature at a cost of 4 and another decent bomb to tell the truth, try only if possible to wait for the 5 mana so you can sacrifice it (to activate a scry 2) if you are afraid that your opponent will kill him immediately as he enters the battlefield.

Apart from the first effect, however, the second is also interesting because, although expensive, it can guarantee us access to cards from the top of our deck as well as being able to hit any target based on the cost of any non-land card revealed in this way. Maybe it will be necessary for him to work more than the dragon to find a place but the power level is definitely rather high.

Dates to consider for this edition:

Important, we return with the Game Day and we will celebrate it on March 5, 2022.
