Although the effectiveness of the Flogobolon and Skorpios has long been recognised by City-States, they have long struggled to deploy them profitably on the battlefield. In a stroke of genius, the Gerousia of Helias invited merchant and noble houses to finance the construction of these deadly vehicles. The frenzy of spending and over-engineering that ensued then spread to the other City-States and their noble patrons. These weapons are engineering marvels that only the Dweghom could hope to match. The chariot frames, made of solid wood and metal, protect both rider and weapon... The lions, meanwhile, serve simply to proclaim the wealth and power of their patrons.

These war chariots are mobile rapid-fire platforms capable of supporting the main battle lines of City-States with two powerful weapon systems. The Flogobolon is an excellent deterrent, preventing enemy regiments from attacking the flanks of your main line while unleashing devastating salvos on enemy regiments already engaged in combat. The Skorpios, on the other hand, sacrifices some of the firepower of the Flogobolon for the ability to fire at longer range and deal with a wide variety of threats.
