The first time I was introduced to Warhammer was all the way back in 1998. I was in grade school at the time and we had just read The Hobbit in class. I instantly fell in love with the world of Warhammer! My first set was the Warhammer Fantasy Battles 5th edition Starter set. The box came with Bretonnian Knights and Lizardmen Warriors. I introduced it to my friends at school and soon all the boys in the class were starting collections. Since those early years I've continued with the hobby on and off as my life would allow. After graduating High School I joined the Canadian Military and Was deployed to Kandahar Afghanistan in 2010. As fate would have it a new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Battles released while I was overseas and my hobby friends were sure to send me a copy! After my time in the military I was fortunate enough to get a job working for the very company that makes Warhammer and in 2015 I became the Store Manager of the Games Workshop Appleby Village location in Burlington Ontario. I spent a wonderful 8 years working there and meeting so many enthusiastic and wonderful people. In 2023 I made the decision to leave Games Workshop and join the team at TistaMinis!

I enjoy the work environment, the people, and of course the products! I like being a part of this small team and helping David and Catherine as they grow the business!

We are constantly adding new product lines and attracting new customers from all over North America and the World. 

Since working here some of my favourite customer interactions have been with customers visiting our store for the first time but have been online customers for years. 

These customers visit from as far as out in British Columbia to as far south as Kentucky! Its always great meeting other enthusiastic hobbyists and hearing their hobby story.

Hey! My name is David, I work on shipping/order fulfillment at Tistaminis.

I have a passion for all things technology & gaming. The first video game I ever played was Zelda Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64. That started a lifelong journey for me to surround myself with "Nerd Culture". These days I mostly play and collect trading card games, board games and video games.

My favorite game is Flesh and Blood TCG. The community that we have built at the store is second to none. We are very accepting of new players and always bantering in the store discord channel.

I also have a soft spot for RuneScape and Pokemon as these are games that I have played growing up. I find myself always going back and playing them. You don't quit, you just take a break.

I enjoy working at Tistaminis because it feels like a second home for me.I have been playing Flesh and Blood TCG for a few years at the store and was able to get to know the owners as I kept showing up week after week. We agreed I may as well start working since I was there so often.

I love the variety of products that we sell. I find myself looking at an item being shipped out and saying to myself "I want this".

Hi, my name is David and I am a down to earth guy who happens to love tabletop games of all sorts! I like to strive for greater heights especially in the work environment. 

I'm not the best with socializing as I'm really gullible and some social cues go right over my head, but I don't let that stop me from enjoying conversations with people.

I've always loved the High Fantasy genre and strategy based games so this just was a call out to me when I first heard about Age of Sigmar. 

When it comes to Magic, I've been playing since the Khans of Tarkir block, and immediately got addicted to the Commander format. It has such an interesting dynamic where you have to play the game, but adds a lot of social aspects to the game like making deals or trying to politic with your opponents to come out on top. 

The main thing I enjoy about working at TistaMinis is the caring nature of the owner and his wife David and Catherine. 

They have been a pleasure to work with because they actually care and will always help you out when you need it most! 

I also like the diligent attitude of everyone at the store and the inviting atmosphere they have cultivated since TistaMinis moved to their new location.

Hello! I'm Davie and I'm into all sorts of tabletop and video games!

Davie was one of our first staff members from the start and helped us a lot along the way. He helped us with moving out of our home business, as well as into the 2nd larger warehouse. Davie helped us for multiple years with helping grow the company and we appreciate all his hard work!

Old World - Warhammer

One of my fav parts about working at Tistaminis was receiving and seeing all the new products as it came in. It was cool being one of the first to see the hot new releases in-person.

After 27 years as a software developer and 2 years of early retirement, I saw a Facebook ad that Tistaminis was hiring in the Fall of 2021. The rest is 2.5 years of history. 

I worked the front cash mainly and did some automation and website work. I also helped with organizing tournaments for Star Wars Legion and Bolt Action as well as a few of the other miniature lines. 

After 2.5 years I was presented with a work from home opportunity that I couldn't pass up. It was a pleasure working with David and Catherine and all the staff. Thank you!

My favourite game is Star Wars Legion with Star Wars Shatterpoint a close second.

After playing SW Imperial Assault for a couple of years FFG announced at Gen Con 2017 that they were going to release SW Legion in the spring of 2018. I've been playing since then and I still am playing it
