Bolt Action British Airborne weapons teams New

The British forces in their pursuit of victory relied on a range of versatile weapons to provide close support and dominate the battlefield. Among these weapons, the 2-inch mortar stood as a valuable asset for close-range engagements. Operated by a two-man team, an NCO shouldered the responsibility of firing the weapon while the other carried the necessary ammunition. Weighing a mere 11 pounds, this portable mortar offered a remarkable effective range of 500 yards, enabling quick maneuverability and deployment to support infantry operations.

Snipers within the British ranks were armed with the SMLE No.4 Rifle, skillfully equipped with the No.32 Mk.1 telescopic sight. The sniper team carried a total of fifty rounds of ammunition, including five tracer rounds and five armor-piercing rounds. To further enhance their operational capabilities, the team was equipped with two No.36 Mills bombs or two No.77 smoke grenades, ensuring versatility in engaging targets. Additional gear such as binoculars and a camouflage net complemented their arsenal, allowing for heightened situational awareness and effective concealment.

When it came to dealing with fortified positions and buildings, British forces relied on the Ack Pack, a portable flamethrower. Designed to be carried and operated by a single soldier, the Ack Pack weighed approximately 64 pounds. Once fully loaded, it boasted the capacity for ten bursts, each lasting two seconds. With an impressive range of fifty yards, the Ack Pack proved to be a truly formidable weapon, excelling in clearing bunkers and structures that stood in the way of the advancing British forces.
